The aeropress is endlessly fun brewer. There are as many ways to brew an AeroPress coffee as there are coffee beans in the world.
You can make a faux-spresso or a delicate brew, dose high or low, make a concentrate, grind anywhere between coarse and fine, brew it inverted or rightside up, it's up to you!
A couple of years back, we participated in the Canadian Aeropress Championship, and it was surprising to see how many different cup-profiles that brewing methods can give you from this one device using the same coffee. This is our go-to recipe for brewing with the AeroPress:
- Rinse your filter with water for a few seconds (our favourite is the Aesir filter).
- Use 15 grams of medium ground coffee
- Pour 200g of 96 C water over the coffee.
- Stir 6 times.
- Place the plunger on the Aeropress and pull up slightly in order to prevent the water from draining through the filter and let the coffee steep for 60 seconds.
- After 60 seconds of steeping time, press your coffee into your cup or pitcher over the course of 30 seconds.
- Enjoy!
